STAGECRAFT AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION

(STAGEHANDS, AUDIO TECHNICIANS, VIDEO TECHNICIANS)

Thank you for your interest in Empire Training Center for the Arts (ETCA). Our program is designed to provide high quality training to adults who are interested in opportunities for technical or administrative careers in the performing arts.

Every application submitted will be reviewed. Please read below for details on the application process and timing for our
2025 Stagecraft and Technology cohort! This program will train students in the roles of Stagehand, Audio Technician, and Video Technician. 

  • Step 1: Application submission
  • Step 2: Video Interview (a 30-45 minute interview with Founders & Student Services Advisor)
  • Step 3: Onsite workshop (Experience a sample of the program’s curriculum and work alongside faculty and other prospective students.)

We will also be hosting an open house at The Chance Theater on Saturday, January 11 from 12pm – 3pm ET, where you may fill out a paper application and/or discuss any details about the program with the ETCA team in person.

Tuition
Tuition for this program will be offered to students on a trust-based sliding scale. The full cost of tuition is $3,500, and students will be able to communicate their financial needs during the interview process. References
Please write in the information for two references who we can contact. We would not reach out to them until Step 3 of the application process. Our goal is to have them speak to your interests, work ethic and any relevant experience you may have. Some examples of reference relationships include teachers, supervisors, and personal mentors.
