Empire Training Center for the Arts (ETCA) is a new vocational training center at The Chance Theater in The City of Poughkeepsie, New York. With classes beginning in July 2025, ETCA will offer high-quality, experiential training for adults interested in pursuing live entertainment and performing arts careers in Stagecraft and Technology, as well as provide students with competitive job placements and a dynamic network of artists and arts professionals.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE

ETCA seeks a proactive and highly organized Administrative Associate to join its inaugural team. The Administrative Associate will support the development and management of all ETCA’s administrative systems, manage the creation of various informational and promotional assets, and ensure the implementation and maintenance of sound organizational processes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys working on dynamic projects that support the organization at large. This role will report to the Head of Business Affairs and has a projected start date of June 2025.

STAGECRAFT & TECHNOLOGY SUPERVISOR

ETCA seeks a Stagecraft and Technology Supervisor for the inaugural cohort of their vocational training program for stagehands and audio/video technicians, set to run from July 2025 – May 2026. The Stagecraft and Technology Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the facilities of The Chance, including the theater, the Lab, the student lounge, and all shared and common areas.  The Stagecraft and Technology Supervisor will also be a key instructor within the program, contributing to the development and delivery of the Audio and Video curriculum. Candidates with experience as an Audio or Video Technician, Crew Supervisor, Event Supervisor or teaching production skills in an educational environment are encouraged to apply. This role will report to the founding Head of Stagecraft and Technology. This is a one-year contract position, starting in June 2025.
